The 3rd edition of the Information Fair for the Promotion of Responsible Tourism (SITCOM 2021) is holding from 04 to 20 November at the Yaoundé City Hall esplanade.
This information fair themed "The promotion of local tourism through the sensitization of college and university students", was officially opened today by the representative of the Minister of State in charge of Tourism and Leisure.
Responsible tourism helps to preserve the country's natural resources while improving on the living conditions of inhabitants of localities where such resources are found. Moreover, it helps to guarantee the sustainability of economic activities, by ensuring an equitable redistribution of the economic benefits of tourism.
The Douala Maritime Museum, a product of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), seized this opportunity to make known its touristic attractiveness and to promote local development. The museum equally presents man in his natural environment; a prized resource that must be protected and preserved for future generations
