An office now functional therein for foreign trade operations.

As part of its mission to assist shippers and facilitate trade, notably foreign trade procedures in Cameroon, the CNSC opened an office at SOCOMAR Park on 12 February 2019. "For the authentication of ECTNs and other problems, shippers had to shuttle between the CNSC and SOCOMAR Park,"Steve Manfouo, CNSC's Director of Operations and Projects said. Also, due to the lack of on-the-spot assistance, shippers had to go to the CNSC for claims and other complaints. This situation, which ran contrary to the World Trade Organization’s Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), was likely to lengthen time for clearing cars and other rolling stock.

Therefore, in a bid to check such bottlenecks, the CNSC opened an office at the SOCOMAR Park, which now operates as a one-stop shop with other administrations that have already opened offices therein. "We now receive shippers, authenticate their ECTNs and provide them with the necessary assistance," said Ismaila Moustapha who manages CNSC’s office at the SOCOMAR Park, which is a terminal of more than 169,000m2, including the car park that handles an annual fleet of more than 24,000 vehicles that enter Cameroon through the Douala Port.
